The Goan Neuris, a Christmas delicacy you crunch the season with. In a way it ushers Christmas. This crusty, crispy Neuris our womenfolk will cook in abundance, to make sure there is enough left, even after the Xmas season ends. Its also a important part of Consuada, a Xmas silver tray of Xmas sweets & delicacies covered with napkin embroidery that your sibling sisters have to deliver it to our neighbors and relatives living nearby. Of course, you didn't have to cajole them to deliver, they loved it and all the swooning they were showered with. . No Neuris, No Christmas. its simple as that, every full blooded Goan knows it in his heart.Again a super presentation Credit to : Florency Dias.


Ingredients are as follows

For the Filling/Stuffing: 1/4 Cup White Sesame seeds

1 Tablespoon Vanaspati/Ghee

1 Cup Fine Semolina (Rava)

2 Cups fresh, grated Coconut

1/4 teaspoon Cardamom powder

1/4 teaspoon Salt

3/4 Cup Powdered Sugar (can be altered as preferred)

1/4 Cup chopped Raisins/Sultanas

1/4 Cup Tutti Frutti (optional) Chopped Nuts can also be added

For the Covering (Pastry): 2 Cups & 2 Tablespoons or 250 grams All-purpose flour (Maida)

1/4 teaspoon Salt

2 Tablespoons Vanaspati/Ghee 3/4 Cup Milk
