Ganvcho Sao Joao (The village Sao Joao) An endearing presentation of festivities that mark the feast of St. John the Baptist. It is celebrated with much joy and fervor in the villages, especially among the youth. The wearing of crown of leaves, plenty of food, Sannas, patteos, pork dishes, and of course feni, Goa's hard drink and the the leap or jump in the well, the highlight of the festivity to commemorate, when St John the baptist leapt for joy in the womb when Mary, Our Blessed Mother went visiting her cousin Elizabeth.
